The Hiker is our take on an ultralight bushcraft knife. While weighing as little as possible, this knife must be effective and comfortable for long woodcarving sessions, must be tough enough for splitting wood via batonning, and have a long enough blade to be adequate for slicing.
This is our first Hiker in a while. We kept the stock thickness so it's about 7/64 inches thick, a tad thicker than the ground-down 3/32. The red-brown color of the blade is the true heat-treat finish of CPM 3V; a rough reddish, speckled, powdered-alloy look. This finish should be on there for life. Though still a lightweight bushcraft knife, this knife does not have our lightweight modifications done to it (no taper, no aluminum hardware, scandi instead of convex, etc.).
